Walnut Creek

The Farm at Walnut Creek is a unique working farm, well worth a visit. View and feed over 500 animals – domestic and wild - from six continents. See the pygmy zebu, Vietnamese pot-bellied pigs, giraffes, trumpeter swans, deer, elk and more. All from your own car. Or call to reserve a horse drawn wagon ride. Activities are seasonal: plowing, threshing, sowing, milking, quilting and baking take place on any given day. Stroll through electricity-free farm houses, visit the fresh produce stand and capture photo memories. Spend a day on the Farm at Walnut Creek, (330.893.4200).

Walnut Creek Cheese is a food lover's dream! In 1977, with a pickup truck and a refrigerator box, Mark Coblentz started selling cheese. His cheese savvy was limited, but his sense of quality and service soon amassed customer after customer. The business (and Mark’s cheese expertise) grew – a retail store, now Walnut Creek Cheese, was added in 1984 and has become a unique shopping experience.

Enjoy lunch in the Mudd Valley Café and Creamery, then start looking, trying and buying. The Cannery offers preserves and jellies; there’s fresh produce and groceries. The Butterchurn Kitchenwares department offers thousands of utensils. Mark dares you to eat a giant hand-dipped ice cream cone. It could be your biggest challenge of the day! (330.852.2888)
